Culture Candy's latest confection Sweet Tooth is a free art criticism
publication
that is produced quarterly as a double-sided broadsheet. Each issue
of Sweet Tooth
will be designed by a local, professional artist. The result is not
only a forum for writers
but also a work of art in and of itself. In each poster-sized issue
six writers take on the
task of evaluating the pros and cons of art in Baton Rouge. Editorials
and essays critique
local culture across disciplines and perspectives. Also, to continue
the discussion, each article
has an online forum that readers can access on this page.

Erin Rolfs (managing editor)
Erin Rolfs is a proud mother, a talkative drunk and hopes to be
a writer some day. Always one for a stimulating conversation she
asked these fine writers (see above) to break the ice between and
among the artist and public communities. She feels overwhelmingly
fortunate to be witness to a period of substantial growth in Baton
Rouge's artistic maturity. With that great privilege there are responsibilities
to help nurture that growth in a positive way. Between that realization,
being a mother, a lover of Belgian beer and aspirations of publishing
this idea of Sweet Tooth was born. |
