Rot Your Teeth Out

If it isn’t clear yet, the point of Sweet Tooth is to get
everyone involved in the conversation about art in Baton Rouge.
There are a couple of ways other organizations, artists, community members and media outlets can help foster this dialogue.
Let’s take a look at some suggestions, shall we?

TEACHERS copy and distribute in class to high school, undergrad and graduate students. Take one day to discuss the issues brought forth in the articles and have the students write a response as a class project. We would be happy to involve the writers in a round-table discussion.

ART ORGANIZATIONS have Sweet Tooth on hand at your gallery or facility. Discuss how Sweet Tooth can represent some of the issues facing your organization at your next meeting. Nominate someone to write a persuasive essay addressing those issues and send it our way.

ARTISTS take part in letting other artists know about this opportunity to speak up and offer solutions. You can post the link to Sweet Tooth on your personal website and/or have copies available at your studio.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS take a copy to work, pin it to your cubicle, slip it in your co-workers mailboxes. Think about how Sweet Tooth can be a forum to express your impressions of art and culture in Baton Rouge. You don’t have to be a professional in the arts to have an opinion! Or just email a copy of Sweet Tooth to your cool friend up north and blow their mind.

MEDIA OUTLETS should take advantage of the opportunity to connect with an ever-increasing demographic hungry for innovative and intelligent art events by letting the public know about Sweet Tooth. If you would like to reproduce the broadsheet or editorials for print or broadcast please contact erin@culturecandy.org.

EVERYONE should post a response to one or more of the articles in Sweet Tooth. You never know, you might end up in print. Also, be sure to mark your calendars for JANUARY 18, 2008, 8 p.m. HOUND DOGS for the debut party. It’s only $5 and you’ll feel so good about it.
