SurrealEstate has annouced the participating artists for the King Hotel Project starting in August.
The artists that were chosen to execute their vision are Jill Thomas, Kari Copabianco, Johanna Hill,
Marty Johnson, Melissa Matthews, and Bryant Smith.

The proposed design relates to the date the King Hotel was erected, 1932, the same year as the
Louisiana State Capitol, a period with art trends rich in geometric patterns, stylized figures, and pastel colors.
According to the artists' mission statement, "These elements emerge in our painting to provide a mural
that is non-traditional in color and style to many seen today, yet retains recognizable and appropriate imagery.
We hope the liveliness of the design reflects the recent resurgence of arts in our developing downtown."
